Seven Campbell River Storm players have been named to the North Division squad for the 2012 Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League All Star Classic game hosted by the Saanich Junior Braves Sunday, Jan 15.
Forwards Alex Grupe, Alex Benjestorf, Chase Haley and Brett Willsie, plus defencemen Jesse Spooner and Joel Wheeldon, along with goalie Nick Babich will all suit up for the North in the VIJHL All Star Classic at George Pearkes Arena.
All Star festivities start with a banquet at 10: 30 a.m., followed by the Prospects game at 1 p.m., skills competition at 2: 30 and the All Star Classic at 3: 30. Tickets are adults -$15, children – $7. Banquet tickets are $30. Contact: Anne McIntyre: .
The North Prospects team will feature six Storm up and coming stars.
They include forwards Dane Feeney, Dixon Wing and Josh Cook, plus Wyatt Trumbley and Max Crawford on the blueline and netminder Andy Salazar.
The game format will pit the North Division All-Stars (Comox, Campbell River and Oceanside) vs. the South Division All-Stars (Victoria, Saanich, Peninsula and Kerry Park).
